I had some friends over for the Oscars. Here are some highlight pics…
This is Polly picking who’s going to win. She’s sitting on my crappy couch which looks less crappy because there’s a flowery sheet covering it. Soon I will have a new couch and no more need for such things! She’s also sitting next to tin foil. Polly’s weird like that she carries tinfoil with her EVERYWHERE.
This is the tiny spread. But it’s not completely arranged yet. You can see the saran wrap hasn’t been taken off the veggies or anything. And Kathrine was still cooking and heating up various things. This is really a “before” shot. (I was lazy and didn’t take an “after” or “during” shot.)(It’s also a pretty sweet fireplace and Apple Airport router shot too, no?) But take a look closer. What are those little pieces of paper near the various foodstuffs?
Why look at those clever little names there for the various foods? Isn’t that fun? I can’t take credit for them. Kathrine came up with them.
In case you were curious, the whole list was:
Juno You Like Guacamole
Michael Clay-ton of Veggies
3:10 To Yuca
La Vie En Cheese
In The Valley of Ranch(Dressing)
There Will Be Blood… Sausages
No Country For Old Tortillas
The Demon Baguette Of Fleet Street
And for those keeping score. Eliza won the pool. (Oh and I dressed up as Juno, and no one else dressed up. Which was fine. I won Best Costume by a mile. I’ll post pic tomorrow. I knew I forgot something.)
So here is what I’ve learned about myself from reading Nate’s blog:
1. I think Cat Fancy contains useful articles (a comment that appears to have been removed, probably because I got mad at Nate);
2. I went to a play and complained that there was “too much yelling” in it; and
3. I came up with nicknames for the food at a themed party.
I feel that I am unfairly being portrayed as an 85 year old lady. I am going to send this Nate character a strongly worded letter with a SASE and await his reply.
