I recorded another song this week but I wanted to sing harmony on it so I didn’t use it as the Song du Jour. So enjoy this “studio cut”! Hah. The best part about singing harmony is listening to yourself sing the harmony line without the main vocal. I don’t care who you are, you always sound like Linda McCartney. I remember when Don & Mike isolated her singing in concert for funsies. It was hilarious, but brutal. But you know what? I would prolly sound like that too.
Anyway, here it is…. She Is Gone
Lyrics:
You say, give me a little history
’bout the way that she first missed me
I don’t recall too much of that
And before we get things started
’bout old loves departed
I don’t wanna fall for too much of that
All I know is she’s gone
All I know is she’s gone
All I know is she’s gone, she is gone, she is gone
Gone, again
I’ve written too many times
’bout the ways these things resign
I don’t wanna crawl right back to that
So let’s put our futures forward
Instead of looking backwards awkward
Don’t wanna haunt all of your past
All I know is she’s gone
All I know is she’s gone
All I know is she’s gone, she is gone, she is gone
Gone, again
And if you think who you gonna spend your time with?
Now that your time is just up kid
I don’t wanna build walls in your mind
And if you’re worried about the ending
And the message that you’re sending
I don’t want y’all to forget
